This month we are shining the spotlight on one of our newer colleagues, Kleana Lilo, who is based at our London office, and is a Junior Insolvency Administrator.
We asked Kleana to answer some questions, including what got her into the Insolvency profession, what she particularly enjoys about Insolvency, and of course we also asked her what she enjoys in his spare time away from Insolvency.
1. What do you enjoy about insolvency? What got you into the profession?
“What I enjoy most about insolvency is the variety of the work and the fact that every case presents different circumstances and challenges. I find it particularly interesting to understand the financial position of a company, the factors that have contributed to its difficulties, and how these are addressed throughout the insolvency process.
My background in accounting initially led me towards the profession. Having gained experience as an accountant in Greece, I wanted to broaden my knowledge and develop my career within a profession that combines accounting and finance with more complex and varied casework. Joining Antony Batty & Company has given me the opportunity to build on my existing experience while developing a strong understanding of insolvency.”
2. Past career/firm experience and interesting cases you dealt with
“Before joining Antony Batty & Company in November 2025, I worked as an accountant in Greece, gaining experience in areas including bookkeeping, invoicing and tax-related work.
Since joining Antony Batty & Company, I have gained experience across a range of insolvency matters and have been developing my technical knowledge of the profession. One of the cases I am currently assisting with is the administration of Curo Construction Limited. As I am relatively new to the insolvency profession, being involved in a case of this size and complexity has been a challenging but extremely valuable learning experience.
As the administration is ongoing, the case continues to expose me to different aspects of the insolvency process and provides me with new opportunities to learn and develop my knowledge. I have particularly valued the opportunity to work alongside the wider team, learn from their experience and gain a better understanding of how a complex administration progresses over time. It has been a great opportunity to build my confidence and develop my technical skills in practice.”
3. Interesting facts about yourself, hobbies and interests
“I studied International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business and completed an Erasmus year at the University of Kent. I am currently studying for a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance at Birkbeck.
Outside of work and my studies, I enjoy travelling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. I particularly enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, as well as exploring new places and trying different cuisines.”
