This month we are shining the spotlight on one of our newer colleagues, Dulcimer ‘Dulcie’ Thompson who is based at our Thames Valley office and is an Insolvency Case Administrator.
We asked Dulcie to answer some questions, including what got her into the Insolvency profession, what she particularly enjoys about Insolvency, and of course we also asked her what she enjoys in his spare time away from Insolvency.
- What do you enjoy about insolvency?
I really enjoy the variety that working in insolvency provides, not only is every case unique, but so are the people involved and the companies they need assistance with. This job has enabled me to meet countless interesting people in all sorts of sectors. Not only this, but I really enjoy the investigative work we do. Getting a glimpse of the business’ daily life and the cause of the insolvency can be fascinating.
- What got you into the profession?
I got into insolvency shortly after I graduated; the country was gradually coming out of lockdown, and I was unsure what opportunities there would be post-Covid. A friend of mine worked in payroll at an Oxford accountancy firm and told me of a role in their insolvency department. I applied and the rest is history! I mostly have experience dealing with liquidations, ranging from small companies to bigger businesses. I have recently started working on bankruptcies and compulsory winding ups.
- What are your hobbies and interests?
When I am not working, I like spending time with my dogs in the countryside and singing with my band!
