Elaine Wilkins continues her commitment to Dorset Businesses with her appointment as Vice Chair of the Dorset Chamber Ambassadors

20th January 2026

We are pleased to announce that Elaine Wilkins, Director of our Bournemouth office, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Dorset Chamber Ambassadors. Elaine has served as an Ambassador for six years and her new role reflects her long-standing and on-going commitment to the Dorset business community.

Elaine said:

“I am very pleased to take on the Vice Chair role. Dorset has been my home and the centre of my working life for more than forty years and I care about the strength of our local business community. The Chamber plays an important part in that, and I look forward to continuing to support its work.”

The role of Dorset Chamber Ambassadors

Ambassadors represent the Dorset Chamber at events, support member engagement and provide insight into the issues affecting local businesses. As Vice Chair, Elaine will help guide this group and work with the Chamber team to ensure that member feedback and local businesses’ needs are clearly understood.

Elaine’s role at Antony Batty and Company’s Bournemouth office – a strong Dorset focus

Her career includes 28 years with Barclays Bank, followed by 10 years in accountancy. She moved into insolvency in 2019 and joined Antony Batty Bournemouth in 2020. She is also a Mental Health First Aider, supporting her calm, measured approach when directors are under strain. Elaine is as passionate about working with local businesses in Dorset as she has always been.

At Antony Batty & Company’s Bournemouth Office, Elaine is the first point of contact for directors seeking insolvency advice across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Dorchester, Weymouth and the wider county. She understands the challenges facing Dorset’s owner-managed businesses and the importance of early, practical guidance when financial pressures arise.

Why this matters for local businesses

Dorset’s economy is built on a wide range of SMEs, many of which are managing rising costs, cashflow pressures and post-pandemic adjustments.

Elaine’s Chamber work gives her a deep understanding of emerging issues across the county. Her role at Antony Batty & Company gives her the tools to help directors address them.

Insolvency Practitioners help directors facing financial difficulties understand their options early. This can include turnaround planning, restructuring, creditor negotiations and, only when no other option remains, liquidation.

Looking ahead

Elaine remains committed to helping directors in financial distress and supporting them towards a clearer future. Her appointment as Vice Chair reflects both her contribution to the area and her ongoing focus on practical, grounded support for local businesses.
