Insolvency Practitioners News from January and February 2017
London and Brentwood based Insolvency Practitioners, Antony Batty and Company, was appointed to act for 6 new cases during January and February 2017. Three of the cases were Liquidations, 2 were joint administrations and one was a bankruptcy. All of the cases give a flavour of the pressures the businesses were under at the time of insolvency, and they cover a range of businesses across different sectors. Master Chicken Limited
W A Batty has been appointed Liquidator of Poole based chicken takeaway restaurant. The director stated that increased prices in supplies was a contributing factor to the business failure.
Highfield Glazing Innovations Ltd
W A Batty has been appointed as Liquidator to Highfield Glazing Innovations Ltd. The Company offered first class innovative glazing products for the replacement and new build markets. There was a catalogue of errors from a member of staff which resulted in dismissal and that coupled with a down turn in enquiries and sales has now escalated to the Company entering into Liquidation.
Morufat Folashade Bayewunmi
T W Gardiner was appointed Trustee in Bankruptcy of Morufat Folashade Bayewunmi on 14 February 2017. The debtor had traded as a mini-cab driver.
Elizabeth Cake Shop Limited
W A Batty has been appointed liquidator of Elizabeth’s Cake Shop. The business was a long established business started in 1968 in Southbourne Grove Bournemouth. The company operated from two premises. The continued growth of competition from supermarkets made it increasingly difficult to trade and has resulted in the demise of the business. Despite interest to purchase the business this did not materialise.
Walther Limited
T W Gardiner & HF Jesseman were appointed as Joint Administrators of Walther Limited by the qualifying floating charge holder on 6 February 2017. The company was involved in waste management and construction.
Cozy Bay Limited
W A Batty and S J Evans have been appointed Joint Administrators of the above company. The company was established as a distributor and manufacturer of home and garden leisure brands supplying innovative and highly functional home and garden leisure solutions.
