News from the Insolvency Practitioners June – August 2016. 

London and Brentwood based Insolvency Practitioners, Antony Batty and Company, was appointed to act for 5 new cases between June and August 2016. One of the cases was as joint administrators with the remainder being Liquidations.

The cases cover a range of businesses across different sectors, from healthcare to catering. We are here for when it isn’t business as usual – helping businesses to recover and turn things around where possible.

T W Gardiner & S J Evans were appointed Joint Liquidators of So Me Heath & Beauty Limited on 18 August 2016. The company traded 3 beauty salons in addition to 64 beauty concessions within Superdrug stores throughout the South East of England. A sale of the business and assets saving 120 jobs was effected prior to appointment.

W A Batty & T W Gardiner were appointed Joint Administrators over The Gourmet Hotdog Company Limited on 10 August 2016. The company operated two outlets in Canary Wharf and Stanstead Airport respectively and a sale of the business and assets is currently being negotiated.

T W Gardiner was appointed Liquidator of The Big M London Limited on 29th July 2016. The company provided management services to artists in the music industry and the failure was predominately due to an investment deal not proceeding to completion.

T W Gardiner was appointed Liquidator over Dargaz Limited on 8 July 2016. The company had provided care to adults with disabilities and the director and shareholder chose a solvent liquidation as a tax efficient and complete termination of the business.

W A Batty has been appointed Liquidator of Marine Automation Propulsion Limited. The company which was incorporated in December 2008 was a system integrator for marine alarms and monitoring systems. The failure of the business has been partly as a result of the demise of three large shipyards.

W A Batty & H F Jesseman were appointed as Joint Administrators of J A Brooks & Co Limited on 21 March 2016. The Company has been trading as plumbers for major construction sites throughout London, such as Heron tower in Bishopsgate and the “Walkie Talkie” since 1924. A pre-packaged sale to an unconnected third party Company, JA Brooks Mechanical Services Limited, was completed on 23 March 2016, thereby saving forty jobs.
